The Panettone World Championship final round is coming to Host 2025 on October 18

After the success of its first edition, the world’s sweetest challenge returns to the exhibition, culminating in the grand final and the announcement of winners. As many as 12 national teams are competing.

Let’s get ready for a challenge that will “rise” before our eyes, in the true sense of the word. After the success of the first edition, the Panettone World Championship 2025, the only team championship with live product making, is back, organized by the Accademia dei Maestri del Lievito Madre e del Panettone Italiano, in collaboration with Host Milano, organized by Fiera Milano, and other partners of excellence.

A one-of-a-kind event, the world's most spectacular cake competition will see the world’s best sourdough masters vie for the international title from 13 to 18 October 2025, with Host 2025, at the Fiera Milano fairgrounds from 17 to 21October, becoming the stage for the grand finale on Saturday 18.

A global reference point for the out-of-home, this year’s exhibition is increasingly an international hub for Bakery thanks to the revamped MIPPP - Milano Pane Pizza Pasta, which this year also benefits from a partnership with Consorzio SIPAN. By hosting the highlight of the PWC, Host Milano and MIPPP will also strengthen themselves as a central hub in the international narrative of the artisan patisserie value chain.

As many as 12 national teams are participating from around the world: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Cuba, France, Germany, Japan, Peru, Spain, Taiwan and Venezuela. Each team will consist of three artisans, all of the same nationality, supported by a team manager and led by a captain.

New this year, teams will also be engaged in the preparation of an Innovative Gelato Panettone, making a perfect marriage between two excellences of Italian eating that will join the Traditional Italian Panettone and the Chocolate Panettone. Completing the championship are three other mandatory preparations: a “Circular” Single-Serve Dessert, made with traditional panettone dough; a “Sourdough Flower”, crafted using their own refreshed sourdough starter, a Decorated Panettone, with free artistic expression – all of which will contribute to the teams’ final score.

In the October 18 final at Host 2025 The Stars Jury, featuring 10 renowned international chefs and pastry chefs, and the Journalists’ Jury, formed by 10 leading voices from the food and lifestyle media, will award special prizes for Best Presentation Table/Display and Best Presentation Brochure, while the World Gelato Champions Jury will award a special prize for the Best Gelato created by the teams for their Gelato Panettone entry.
