Behind the timeless appeal of the table, there is technology

The dedicated area of Host 2025 highlights an industry that is innovating both in production, with cutting-edge technologies and sustainability, and in design, materials and styles, through customization.

Business is served. According to research by Research and Markets, the global tableware market was worth $46 billion in 2022, while it is estimated to reach $63.7 billion by 2030, with a CAGR of 4.2 percent over the period.

Innovative materials, ergonomics and functionality, new designs and colors, and more sustainability are the secrets of this growth, featured in the dedicated area of Host 2025, at fieramilano in Rho from 17 to 21October 2025.

Even behind ‘traditional’ products are cutting-edge technologies. “AI comes increasingly into play," explained Maurizio Montanari, Head of International Sales Hotel & Restaurant at Sambonet Paderno Industrie, Arcturus Group, “and we are developing a number of projects with specialized partners to increase efficiency and reduce timelines in the medium term. We have also been working on supply chain sustainability since 2012.” The result is products that go beyond novelties and ranges: “Today, we have to create settings that can transfer the distinctive values of our own proposal.”

Innovativeness that goes beyond the table: “The creativity of chefs goes beyond the boundaries of food and extends to beverages,” added Rosaria Penati Barker, Market & Business Development Director of Bormioli Luigi. “To satisfy this sensory experimentation, we continue to expand the 'drink-specific glass' range with designs that enhance both the taste impact and the uniqueness of the cocktail. For example, designs inspired by the 1920s, but reinterpreted with a contemporary twist.”

In line with HostMilano’s internationality, in addition to Italian excellence, innovative proposals are also coming from top foreign players. “One of the main trends is personalization, in a ‘complete experience’ where everything matches perfectly: to this end, we are exploring digital printing options. In addition, we are focusing on new colors, shapes and designs,” concludes Lynne Verrydt, Marketing & Events at Fine Dining & Living (Belgium).

At Host 2025, design will also be featured in events with Smart Label – Host Innovation Award and the Design Talks meetings.
