Nitrogen cold brew coffee has really become a popular trend in Toronto. It first became popular in the summer of 2016, and has only continued to grow from there.

The cold brew coffee is treated with nitrogen, a technique typically used by beer brewers. The finished product is a cold brew coffee with a silky smooth, creamy mouth feel that some people say is almost like drinking a beer.
Those who are familiar with Irish stout beers will know of the creamy head that rests on top of the beer after it’s been poured - the nitro cold brew coffee has a very similar look when finished.
Is it all just about the look, texture and taste though?
The short answer is - yes. & Toronto is loving it. It’s a cold coffee without cream, that still has a creamy finish! You can see how this also appeals to those health conscious folks, that still want a rich and delicious taste.
Nitro Cold Brew is not just popular in small independently owned coffee shops, even some of the larger chains have started providing it for their customers, which only goes to show that it should be around for a while!
On that note, I think I’ll go have one of these frothy numbers today!
