According to the ExportPlanning calculations, from today to 2024 all the Italian professional hospitality chains will be able to increase their market shares in Great Britain.
For the Made in Italy in the Ho.re.ca sector, Brexit may be a "plus". It is true, for food exports purchases of Italian food products in Great Britain fell by 2%, due to the bureaucratic and administrative difficulties associated with the exit of the British from the European Union (as revealed by an analysis by Coldiretti based on Istat data relating to foreign trade in April 2021 compared to the previous year), but when it comes to hospitality, Brexit promises to leave no traces.
This is confirmed by the latest ExportPlanning elaborations, according to which in the coming years all the Italian professional hospitality supply chains will be able to significantly increase their shares in the UK's market. In first place, according to the data, there will be the "Coffee-Coffee Machines-Vending Machine" sector, where the incidence of the "premium-price" segments (almost 57% of total market imports) is particularly significant; between now and 2024 an average annual increase of +7.4% in euro values is expected, corresponding to an increase of 246 million euro, with Italy in 4th place among the partner countries of the market (102.2 million euro exported in 2020). Immediately behind, the prospects will be equally good for "Professional Catering", with expected increases in imports of +7.2% average annual values in euros (Italy is in 3rd place among the partner countries of the market, with a market share 7.4%).
Excellent forecasts are also those of the “Furniture & Table” sector, in which the British market is in 3rd place overall in the world by import value in 2020 (6.9 billion euros); the average annual growth expected for imports over the next four years will be 6.8%, with Italy ranking 6th among the market partner countries (307 million euros exported in 2020). Just lower (+6.6%), will then be the growth of the “Refrigerated display cases” segment; for the British market, the forecasts in the scenario to 2024 see increases in imports of an average annual +6.6% in euro values (+71 million euro), with Italy ranking 2nd among the partner countries of the market, with 42.2 million euros exported in 2020. Finally, the "Bakery & Pastry" sector: where instead a modest average annual increase is expected (+ 1.7% in euro values) despite Italy being in 2nd place among the partner countries of the market, behind the United States, with a share of 17.8 percent in 2020.
