Not only machinery and equipment, but also materials and services are changing to meet demands for sustainability and innovation.
HostMilano is all about the future and about innovation in all sectors of hospitality, thanks to companies that have made innovation their key mission.
One of the focuses in hospitality technology at the moment is on sustainability in all its forms and on the most complex user interfaces, with online apps and services and the new, ever more strategic geo-marketing tools that entrepreneurs have at their disposal, says Marco Brunato, sales director of Sadun, a company that will be at Host2023 and is working towards creating “materials that are truly safe and free of any accusations of greenwashing.”
“Attention to safety, hygiene and the whole subject of sustainability seems to be the driving force behind consumer habits and choices,” explains Germana Squillace, marketing & communication specialist at Contital. And it is happening on different levels: from procedures for greater safety, the drawing up of policies on hygiene and other decisions taken to protect food and customers in various settings. “Take, for example, the development of food delivery, of contactless payments and the growth of eco-sustainable tourism. It is necessary to facilitate these trends more and more, offering consumers products and services that cater to these needs, so customers feel that what they want is being understood.”
Contital has developed a range of single-use plates made 100% of recycled aluminium and also a range of ultra-rigid aluminium tubs painted black or gold, for takeaway gourmet dishes.
“Our plates have not only displayed particularly interesting eco-friendly qualities during a life-cycle assessment study (confirmation of our ongoing commitment to environmental protection), but they are especially useful in the everyday world, because they can be used in traditional ovens, microwaves, fridges and freezers.”
Innovation will once again be central to the This is the Smart Label – Host Innovation Award, and at the 2023 edition, the green label for innovation will go to those products that have done the most to point the way to the future of hospitality.
