When the refrigeration market gets... hot

Refrigeration is one of the food equipment product categories with the highest demand. An opportunity to be seized by investing in innovation, sustainability and internationalization.

If food service equipment is the king of out-of-home technologies, refrigeration systems are its crown jewels. Allied Market Research places them among the three most sought-after product types, alongside cooking and processing systems. For another analyst, such as Polaris Market Research, the global professional refrigeration market is worth more than $20 billion and is poised to rise to $29.3 billion in 2032 (CAGR +4.3%).

Always with a keen eye for the sectors with the most growth opportunities, Host 2025, at fieramilano in Milan-Rho from 17 to 21 October 2025, will have refrigeration in the spotlight in the Food Service Equipment area, where all the top players in the industry will be present, telling us how they face the future challenges for such a sensitive sector.

“We are committed to containing consumption and reducing environmental impact,” explained Angelo Minaudo, Marketing & Communication Manager at Coldline, “by using zero-impact R290 natural gas and modulating ventilation and temperature more effectively. Professionals who invest in multifunction blast chillers and advanced storage devices have enormous benefits: scalable production, work scheduling, optimization, and waste reduction.”

“We have been meeting the green challenges for a long time,” they agreed from the Direction at Cool Head, “for example, with high energy efficiency, favoring durable materials and using refrigerants that reduce emissions, as well as next-generation thermostats and self-closing doors with opening alarms, while insulation layers are above standard. Only those who can offer precise service, with quality products, can continue to grow.”

On the subject of environmental impact and the market, added Luca Franceschini, Italy sales manager at Sinofcold: “The market is evolving toward a clear distinction between low and high end. In the latter we offer zero-impact heavy duty products, implementing R290 gas and combining performance with innovative aesthetics. We have only been in the market for a few years, and it is important for us to present these innovations on the international stage at Host.”

“Both when designing and evolving our products, we take environmental impact into account and work for products that are easily recyclable,” concluded Nicolò Senise, Export Manager at Tecfrigo. “One of our ranges of vertical display cases is more than 90 percent recyclable, while packaging is made of low-impact cardboard and wood, with very little plastic. Competition is tough and we need to invest to reach the most dynamic markets, as we export 65 percent of our production to more than 80 countries.”

To get a preview of the trends that will shape the future, also not to be missed at Host 2025 is the tight events schedule.
