Gelato goes international at HostMilano

At what is a key trade fair for the whole sector globally, new ideas in the fields of technology, design and materials are presented: two firms whose business is one of the best-loved Italian creations say what the Milan fair means to them.

Gelato is one of those Italian inventions that are so simple yet brilliant that they take the world by storm. It was once regionally restricted, but has now emigrated far and wide and is available in every country. The international context of HostMilano is its ideal showcase, also thanks to its synergies with all hospitality sectors, which are becoming increasingly relevant to it, from Pastry and Coffee to the world of catering generally.

“HostMilano is the most important HoReCa fair, and perhaps the only one that those involved in the food&beverage sector worldwide really recognise,” says Enzo di Serafino, commercial sales director at Frigomeccanica. There were a lot of foreign visitors to the event, and you got a great sense of enthusiasm that things were starting up again after Covid. We are sure that this will carry on after HostMilano, because that enthusiasm is very widely felt.”

The Abruzzo-based company brought a wide range of new ideas to the fair, including bar furnishings made from both innovative and traditional materials, and new gelato, pastry and bar display unit designs that are multi-purpose and very useful for the day-to-day running of an establishment.”

“We feel very much at home at HostMilano, we have always come here and it is a great place to do high-level business in the HoReCa sector,” says Giampiero Mariottini, marketing and communication manager at ISA. “We decided to bring our premium collection created by Antonio Citterio, who is one of the world’s most important designers. That decision paid off and the fair took us into a very interesting direction. Never before has there been such a true opportunity to relaunch business, and to meet retailers and distributors but also very many end customers: it really is a place where you can establish relations with others.”
