Insights from HoReCa Bites

A new social media platform confirms HostMilano’s role as a trendsetter and offers an in-depth professional glimpse of the new world of hospitality on a global level.

What direction is hospitality heading in, what tools does it need and how will it cater to the demands of a changed and multifaceted clientele? And what role does technology play in hotels and restaurant kitchens? These are some of the questions that will be answered on HoReCa Bites, the new HostMilano social media platform that sets out to offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the world of foodservice, and the hotel and catering industries through video interviews with leading professionals who operate in the sector.

The first two protagonists, both based in Milan (there is an item on each of them in this newsletter), are leading figures in their respective fields. Davide Oldani, a regular visitor to the International Hospitality Exhibition and two Michelin star-rated chef. He invented Pop cuisine and has been a great promoter of sustainability in the kitchen since before it became fashionable. The second is Ernst Knam, an internationally acclaimed pastry chef known around the world as “the King of Chocolate”.

To build up a truly comprehensive picture of hospitality, the focus will be not only on chefs and pastry chefs, but also on many other figures from the world of hospitality at large, who frequent and follow HostMilano as an essential hub of innovation. Architects, designers, distributors, contractors, maîtres and hospitality professionals.

In April, HostMilano is meeting Fabio Zanetello, chef and technical head of an iconic manufacturer of utensils and machinery for restaurants, hotels and the catering sector as a whole. In an interview going out for the first time, Zanetello explains what Research & Development work needs to be done to meet the demands of companies operating in Ho.Re.Ca, and illustrates the professional equipment no successful restaurant should be without.

The May interview will be with Andrea Obertello, general manager of the Four Seasons hotel in Milan, who will reveal to HostMilano everything there is to know about the impeccable running of a luxury establishment. A chance to find out some of the innovative ways in which technology has improved the customer experience, to ensure a memorable stay for guests.

And as HostMilano 2023 gradually draws closer, other international personalities and innovators in the sector will be interviewed.
