Technological but green materials, collections that invite us to waste less and that make the service lighter for those who work, renewed vintage and an eye to the takeaway market are the news of the sector.
A new mise en place, which also looks at the complementary delivery channel, now acquired, and at sustainability in materials and the fight against waste. These are the lines of innovation that companies in the sector are evaluating, which will exhibit in the Table Furniture and Technology area at Host21. “At HostMilano we will bring a new concept in the food delivery segment. We follow the path of eco-sustainability, providing glass items that are light, resistant and above all recyclable - says Giovanni Schiraldi, Director of Food Service South East Europe of the French ARC. For the future of hospitality we implement innovative solutions in materials to improve the yield of the items and the ease of use, without neglecting a high-level design".
Among the trends in the sector "in general, but especially in the Food to go segment, the most important trend remains the attention to eco-friendly products and therefore recyclability and eco-sustainability, and ARC is constantly working on these issues". For example with the new collection of containers specially designed for takeaway and glass delivery, a healthy material that guarantees the organoleptic qualities and health safety of food, with various advantages: they are transparent for the perfect presentation of food, stackable, light, airtight, microwave safe and extremely resistant.
“In the Barware segment, Vintage continues to be the trend, and therefore the products of the moment are retro-style items revisited in a modern key with new colors” continues Schiraldi. Here then is the line of glasses that recalls the tables of the roaring '30s. As for Tasting, we move towards new forms that go beyond the ordinary, always respecting the high quality standards.
“In collective catering, increasingly lightweight and performing materials are sought, which are capable of limiting the risks of musculoskeletal disorders for the staff who take care of the service, but are also resistant to shocks, temperature variations and intensive washing” concludes Schiraldi. Even the dishes change size to limit waste.
"We will present at Host all the innovations launched since the beginning of the health crisis, in particular our premium collections that seem to us to better respond to the expectations of end customers of a more local supply and their renewed interest in 'real' local producers" says Massimiliano Contigiani, HoReCa and foreign commercial director of the French company Degrenne Paris.
As for trends, “after a few years of colored plates we clearly see the return of timeless white tableware, even with some special decorative effect. We are also interested in technical innovations to reduce the impact of the porcelain and cutlery manufacturing industry”.
As for HostMilano in attendance, “after almost two years from the start of the health crisis and the limits to international travel, it is very important for us to meet our customers again in person, to discuss the future with them - argues Contigiani. The HoReCa world has been dramatically hit by the crisis, but for a few months and despite the long-term effects that will occur, we are experiencing much faster and stronger growth than expected. Probably as a European producer our position at the end of the crisis will be stronger than ever and we must assure our partners of our full commitment to face our common challenges with them”.
