The Maestri del Lievito Madre group has launched the global challenge to elect the best traditional handmade Italian "panettone".

The Panettone World Championship will crown as “King of Pastry Makers” the contestant who makes the best panettone, drawn from an international field of entrants.
 
The world champion will have to demonstrate his mastery of perfect leavening, elegant forms, doughmaking and baking, the choice of ingredients, fine, well-balanced flavour, originality and colour…

After the "zero" edition, The Maestri del Lievito Madre group launches the first ever Panettone World Championship and invites the best Italian and international pastry makers to compete for the title of "Best Panettone in the World".

 
The Panettone World Championship was launched with the aim of promoting the excellence of handmade panettone worldwide, to bring together the various cultures of pastry chefs who make their panettone with sourdough, the key to the identity of each different territory.
