The world of baking: responsible together
“The baking sector is reacting with a great sense of commitment and responsibility towards the community. Right from the start, bakers and the agrifood supply chain as a whole have understood their role”. These are the reflections of Matteo Cunsolo, the baker who owns “Panetteria” (Parabiago - Milan), which supplies many well-known restaurants in Milan and the hinterland, chairman of the association Panificatori di Milano e Provincia and secretary of the Richemont Club Italia, teacher, consultant and training expert. Baking bread is a huge responsibility: “Bread enters people’s homes and is part of everyday family life. Bread is joyful, synonymous with love and conviviality”. The current situation has clearly altered his customers’ habits, but Matteo Cunsolo is confident: “As far as the future is concerned, the baking sector is looking at and considering a variety of scenarios, but we really must not underestimate the changes that we are going to have to make to our everyday lives, at professional level and in our personal and business relationships. I think there is going to be a long period of adaptation. This is why the real challenge will consist in immediately accepting the reasons for change and in developing a new idea of enterprise”. Change, entrepreneurial spirit and confidence are the three keywords that, according to Cunsolo, will help us tackle this emergency, and the new business, economic and social scenarios that it brings, with hope and commitment.
