Poli.Design: seven professional development seminars
They were introduced in the last edition and will be returning, even more prominently, in 2019. Seven professional development seminars on matters of great relevance to today’s hospitality sector, organised by HOST and POLI.design for the five days of the event at fieraMilano Rho from 18 to 22 October 2019, will be given by architects and sector experts. Central to the subjects for discussion, aimed at providing guidance on how to take an innovative, user-centred approach with content that can be usefully implemented in the profession, will be the most innovative solutions and tools, a look at new urban scenarios, the world of luxury and attention to the consumer experience, particularly with regard to new technologies.
The topics for six of the seven seminars have already been decided by a team of professionals, with Francesco Scullica acting as Scientific Director and architects Gianpietro Sacchi as Alberto Zanetta as coordinators.
In the third seminar, Food & Retail Design in the New Urban Scenarios, the subject will be the great success of out-of-home eating, with cities turning into huge food courts, and also the profound changes taking place in consumer patterns regarding food and social interaction. The title of the fourth talk says it all: Luxury 4.0 will deal with high-end design and lifestyle in fashion and furnishings. Luxury is a rapidly expanding sector: the most interesting markets affected by the phenomenon will be identified, helping designers to identify the most successful drivers.
In the Hotel Design & Technology Solutions seminar, the subject will be integrated technology, which has become an essential part of hospitality structure design, making locations cosier for guests and easier for the hotel itself to manage. Design Solutions for Hotel Regenerations, finally, will deal with smart solutions in line with the new demands of an ever more attentive, knowledgeable and demanding clientele, and will also offer suggestions on how to optimise the budget when renovating and refurbishing hotel structures.
The seminars will be submitted to the City of Milan Architects’ Association to determine the credit recognition professionals taking part.
