The selections for the finalists who will compete in the 2019 edition of the FIPGC Cake Designers World Championship and the FIPGC Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate World Championship organised by the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate are underway. Also organised once every two years, the championships will be held for the third time during Host Fiera Milano, respectively on October 19 and 20, 2019 and on October 21 and 22, 2019.
"The selections are being held worldwide and will run until September 2019", explains Roberto Lestani, President of the International Federation of Pastry, Ice Cream and Chocolate. "In the United States, for instance, we have organised four pre-selections and a final one in November which will decide the team to represent the country in HostMilano. South America will follow with Peru, Brazil and Colombia, while in 2019 it will be the turn of China (Shanghai) Japan, Thailand and finally Australia".
The theme for both competitions will be the art and tradition of each participants' country and it promises to be exciting. "We expect plenty of different flavours and colours. Each national team will bring something different with their own takes of their local pastry tradition."
As usual, points will be given to appearance and to taste.
